What We Believe
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant, and preserved Word of God. We believe the Scriptures are God's complete and final revelation to mankind and the supreme authority for faith and practice.
The Godhead
We believe in one true and living God, eternally existing in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each Person is fully God, possessing the same divine nature and perfection, while carrying out distinct and harmonious purposes in God's work of redemption.
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God and God the Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, willingly gave Himself as the substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, died, was buried, and bodily rose again the third day.
We believe He ascended to the right hand of the Father, is the Head of His Church, intercedes for believers, and will personally, bodily, and visibly return.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is God and is a divine Person. At salvation, He indwells, seals, baptizes, and sanctifies every believer. He guides, teaches, comforts, and empowers believers as they yield themselves to Him and the Word of God.
We believe the biblical evidence of the Spirit's work is seen in holy living and the fruit of the Spirit, rather than in modern claims of tongues, miraculous signs, or ecstatic manifestations.
Man and Sin
We believe mankind was created in the image of God but fell into sin through Adam's disobedience. Every person is born with a sinful nature and is a sinner by nature and by choice.
Because of sin, every person stands guilty before a holy God and is unable to save himself through good works, religion, baptism, or church membership.
Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone.
Jesus Christ paid the full penalty for our sins through His substitutionary death on the cross. A person is saved when he responds to the Gospel in repentance and faith, trusting Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord.
Salvation is not earned through good works, baptism, church membership, or human effort. The new birth is an immediate work of God in which the sinner is forgiven, given new spiritual life, and made a new creature in Christ.
We believe every genuine believer is eternally secure and cannot lose his salvation. The life of a believer should demonstrate the transforming work of God through repentance, faith, obedience, and the fruit of the Spirit.
The Christian Life
We believe every believer is called to grow in holiness and become increasingly conformed to the image of Christ. This process of sanctification is accomplished as we yield ourselves to God, submit to His Word, pray, and walk in the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Local Church
We believe the local church is a congregation of born-again, baptized believers who have voluntarily associated themselves together for worship, biblical teaching, fellowship, discipleship, evangelism, edification, and the observance of Christ's ordinances.
Jesus Christ is the Head of His Church, and the local church is to be governed according to the Scriptures, independent of earthly ecclesiastical hierarchy.
We believe the local church is God's primary instrument for making disciples and proclaiming the Gospel in this present age.
Baptism & the Lord's Supper
We believe Christ gave two ordinances to His Church: believer's baptism and the Lord's Supper.
We believe baptism is by immersion and is an act of obedience and public identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Baptism does not save a person and is not part of salvation.
We observe the Lord's Supper as a memorial of Christ's sacrifice and as a time for believers to remember His body and blood and examine themselves before the Lord.
The Family
We believe God established marriage as the lifelong union of one man and one woman. Husbands and wives have equal spiritual value before God while fulfilling distinct biblical roles within the home.
We believe God has entrusted parents with the responsibility of raising, teaching, disciplining, and spiritually instructing their children.
We believe human life begins at conception and that children are a heritage from the Lord.
Biblical Separation
We believe Christians are called to live distinctly from the sinful patterns of the world and to pursue holiness, righteousness, and obedience to Christ.
We believe the local church should maintain doctrinal purity and should not compromise biblical truth for the sake of popularity, cultural acceptance, or organizational unity.
The Return of Christ
We believe in the personal, bodily, and visible return of Jesus Christ.
We believe Christ will first come for His Church, followed by the Tribulation, and will then return to earth to establish His promised Millennial Kingdom.
We believe God has not abandoned His promises concerning Israel and that He will fulfill His purposes for the nation according to His Word.
Eternity
We believe there is a literal Heaven and a literal Hell.
Believers who die immediately enter the presence of the Lord and will ultimately receive glorified, resurrected bodies. Those who die without Christ remain under judgment and will ultimately be cast into the Lake of Fire.
Eternity is real. The Gospel matters. Jesus Christ is the only hope of salvation.
